What is Cubique?
Cubique is primarily a Document Management System that aims to reflect the scientific working environment. Cubique allows users to share files among their team members. It provides easy and secure access to this data from anywhere through the web interface.
Among its many notable features is its document revision system. Document versions are never lost, they can be updated and previous versions of those documents are always accessible.
Communication within Cubique is made easy through the notification system, the internal messaging system and the ability to browse users.

Where can I find out how to use Cubique?
Cubique will provide a set of flash tutorials which are in the process of being finalized. For now this FAQ will attempt to answer your questions, or you can send an internal message to WebPortalAdministrator via the messaging system if you cannot find your answers here.

What are teams?
Teams are groups of people working towards a related goal. Teams consist of people, folders and documents.

What are folders?
Folders are a method of organizing documents. Team leaders can create folders and members can add new documents to those folders.

How does document versioning work?
When a document is initially uploaded, the version of that document is designated as 1. Upon clicking the edit link, and uploading a new document, the new document is stored with the version incremented to 2. The old document is stored in the revision system, and is accessible through the history link. The link in the folder that was present for version 1 is now changed to the new document as the most recent version.
This way all document versions are retained, and document evolution can be tracked.

How do I use the Mail system?
The mail system is very much like the regular email you are familiar with, with the difference in that the messages are sent internally. This means they cannot be reached by external mail clients. The messaging system is best suited for communication within or with entire teams. With the auto-complete feature, you can send messages to one or more persons and/or teams.

Notifications?
Notifications are the means through which Cubique keeps you up-to date with daily activities. Whether it be a new document being uploaded to a team that you are part of, or a new person being added to that team Cubique will send you a notification about that event.

Can I download other people's documents?
You can download other people's documents only if you are part of the team to which the document belongs.
